Marcus Cliffe studied piano from the age of nine and switched to playing bass guitar at High school. He studied jazz and light music at Leeds College of Music, graduating in 1983. He joined local band Brendan Croker and the Five O’ Clock Shadows after college before coming to the attention of Tanita Tikaram .He has since worked with Mark Knopfler with the Nottinghill Billies, Eric Clapton, Paul Young and Rod Stewart. In 2005 Marcus toured the far east with Japanese superstar Eikichi Yazawa . He has worked with Tin Tin Out playing on mixes for Sting, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey and Emma Bunton.
Marcus has his own studio and has produced albums for Dave Kelly of The Blues Band, Tom McGuinness and his own band Miracle Mile whose latest album ‘Glow’ received rave reviews. Since 1999 he has been regular bass player with The Manfreds.
